Cycle North Powersports has been a cornerstone of Prince George, British Columbia, for nearly four decades. The dealership’s roots trace back to 1986, when Bob Williams and Garry Enders founded the business. In 1991, Randy and Joyce Lloyd took the helm after successfully managing Honor Honda in Vanderhoof since 1985,  transforming Cycle North from a Polaris only dealership to a multi-line store with the addition of Honda.  This marked the birth of Cycle North Enterprises Limited, which initially operated from 3rd Avenue. In 2008, the dealership relocated to a state-of-the-art facility on Highway 16 West, reflecting its growth and commitment to serving the community.

The business has always been a family affair. Dustin, Kourtney, and Danny, the Lloyds’ children, grew up immersed in the dealership’s operations. Dustin joined the business in 2000, followed by Kourtney in 2002 and Danny in 2007, after managing Xtreme Toyz, a satellite location in Vanderhoof, since 2002.

Cycle North’s brand portfolio continued to grow, adding Victory Motorcycles and Kawasaki in 2004, Thunderjet in 2010, Avalon Pontoons in 2011, Yamaha Outboards in 2012, and Hewescraft in 2017. A significant expansion occurred in 2021 when Cycle North acquired NR Motors Marine and Powersports Divisions, bringing Suzuki, Kingfisher, Mercury, Lund, Lowe, Legend, Bayliner, Heyday, Solar Boats, Stryker Boats, Stihl, and Tohatsu into the store. In 2023, Surron Electric Dirt Bikes became the latest addition.

From its humble beginnings in a 6,000 sq. ft location on a few city lots to a sprawling 4-acre facility with over 20,000 sq. ft of buildings, Cycle North Powersports has grown exponentially. Celebrating 33 years under the Lloyd family’s ownership, Cycle North remains committed to serving the powersports community for many more years to come.
